This summer, an exciting and innovative chid safety program titled "Safety Town" will once again be offered to kindergarten age children in Cherokee County.  Sponsored by Cherokee Safe Kids, Safety Town is a "Pint-sized" town which teaches and reinforces safety awareness and prevention procedures to youngsters through a variety of safety activities in the classroom and outdoors in a miniature town.  These children will practice safety lessions involving strangers, fire, playground, sachool bus, water, poisons, and much more.  Children will experience "hands on" pedestrian and vehicle safety lessons as they ride a child size vehicle through a miniature town which includes child size safety signs.

Teens are needed to asst the teacher, police officers, firemen and the children at Safety Town.  We invite you to become involved in this wonderful program.  At the completion of SafetyTown we will send a letter to your principal which will give you credit for this valuable and fun community service.
